Imagine Dragons
Biography

Imagine Dragons is a collective from fabulous Las Vegas, which works in alternative rock, indie rock and pop rock genres. The band was formed around Dan Reynolds and Andrew Tolman, singer and drummer, who were friends and students at Brigham Young. Their first release was extended play “Speak to Me”, quickly followed by other EPs – “Hell and Silence” and “Imagine Dragons”. Lucky break came to them when Pat Monahan, frontman of Train music band, fell sick in the wake of the annual Las Vegas festival. Our guys were called in to replace him and got a chance to perform in front of nearly 30k people. Interscope Records recognized their talent and signed them in autumn of 2011. Band saw its share of members joining and leaving before their first album “Night Visions” was released in the middle of 2012. It got to the very top of Billboards’ Top 200 chart, peaking at the second spot and selling nearly 100,000 copies in the first week. Eventually, this album got platinum certification by RIAA and enjoyed worldwide success. After touring with this album for nearly a year, band members declared that they need rest. They took it, as the second album, “Smoke + Mirrors”, was released in February of 2015. While it received mixed reviews from critics, financial success was there again. It sold nearly million and a half copies as of November 2016.
