Biography

Coldplay is a multiple Award winner from London. They are a rock band, which was formed by their lead vocalist Chris Martin in 1996. It consists of Chris Martin (vocalist), Jonny Buckland (guitarist), Guy Berryman (bassist) and Will Champion (drummer). In 1998 the group called themselves “Coldplay”. They started from releasing EPs, such as “The Blue Room”, “Safety” and “Bothers & Sisters”. In 2000 they released the single “Yellow”, which brought them international fame. The same year guys debuted with the album “Parachutes”, which was a nominee for Mercury Prize. At the beginning of their career, Coldplay was often compared to Radiohead and U2. The encouragement for band’s further works they mostly drew from Johnny Cash and George Harrison. During their career, Coldplay got 7 Grammy Awards, 9 British Awards, and 5 MTV Music Video Awards etc. They have already sold almost 80 million records in the whole world, which made them one of the best-selling musicians of all times. The group often participates in a number of charity projects, including Sport Relief, Band Aid 20, and The Secret Policeman’s Ball etc.
