Capital Cities is a bright American pop duo. It was created by Ryan Merchant and Sebu Simonian. Their music is totally infectious. All the melodies are unforgettable with high-quality artistry and deep sensibility.
The band debuted with the single “Safe and Sound” in 2011. It was a real breakout on the music scene. The hit became multi-platinum worldwide and hit top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. It became No.1 on US Alternative Songs chart. It was also used by German Vodafone in its commercial. Moreover, the US and Canada TV selected the track for the 2014 Mazda 3. The video of the track, which is a real mix of dance from all possible eras, got Grammy Award for Best Music Video. Later it was awarded the Best Visual Effects by MTV Video Music Awards.
Next year they released the single “Kangaroo Court”. The guys were chosen by Perez Hilton for Pop Up#1. In 2014, Capital Cities released their debut album “In A Tidal Wave of Mystery” by means of Capital Records. It was the 66th on the Billboard 200 chart.
