Will Young Achieves Third No. 1 on U.K. Charts

Ex reality show winner is now at the top of all UK sales charts because of his twin wins in Sony Music Entertainment. His album, named “Echoes” (RCA/Sony), has taken the number 1 and his single-“Jealousy”, the number fifth position on the ranking charts, whereas the “X Factor” runner-up in 2009, Olly Murs, is leading on singles chart for his “Heart Skips A Beat” (Syco Music/Epic/Sony), holding the features of duo Rizzle kicks, pop/hip-hop. And at number 2 is Joe McElderry for his “classic” album, once defeated Murs in 2009 series and currently is signed by the Universal UCJ label.

Ten years have been passed since the time when Will Young first auditioned for “Pop Idol” and, presently, he is registered for his 10th solo UK top ten single and number one album for 3rd time. First time, he won record survey in the year 2002 for his debut “From Now On” and second time he topped last year for his “Friday’s Child” whereas, Murs came at top of charts, in September last year, for his “Please Don’t Let Me Go”. According to the Official Charts Company, Murs’ “Hearts Skips A Beat”, whose more than 100,000 copies were sold just last week, put him on top of the charts. McElderry got first victory in 2009 for his “X Factor”, seen at number one for his “the Climb” last year and at number three for his album “Wide Awake”, before he was signed by the UCJ.

Adele’s “21” (XL Recordings) was knocked out of first two places at the charts for first time ever since its launch, 30 weeks ago for the fact that Young and McElderry got hold of first two positions. At number four is the grime/rap star Wretch 32 for his album “Black and White”, he was at number one last week for his debut, “Don’t Go”single (Levels/Ministry of Sound), which featured Josh Kumra. At number five is still steady Adele for his last album “19”.

Two more newcomers added to the list of top ten this week; Barbra Streisand got the position at number seven for his "What Matters Most" (Sony Music) and British rock band Hard-Fi, at number nine, for their "Killer Sounds" (Necessary/Atlantic/Warner Music). At number 14, this week, stands the US rapper game’s "The R.E.D. Album" (Geffen/Universal). For the fifth week in a row "Now! That's What I Call Music 79" (EMI/Virgin/UMTV) is leading the charts.

On singles chart, after Murs,  stands a Scottish DJ artist-Calvin Harris, for his "Feel So Close" (Columbia/Sony Music Entertainment). At number three stands Maroon 5 for his "Moves Like Jagger" (Octone/A&M/Universal), featuring Christina Aguilera. Wretch 32’s single fell at number four. Bruno Mars moved upwards 18-11 for his "Marry You" (Elektra/Warner Music) and at number fifteen stands Oasis songwriter, Noel Gallagher and his High Flying Bird for "The Death of You and Me" (Sour Mash). Jessie J climbed up 21-16 for "Who's Laughing Now" (Lava/Universal Island) and at number 18 stands Sean Kingston debut "Party All Night (Sleep All Day)" (Beluga Heights/Epic?Sony Music Entertainment).
