Sam Smith took home an Oscar for Best Original Song award for the soundtrack of the movie "Spectre", "Writing`s on The Wall".
In a post-show interview, the Briton told the BBC that his performance onstage Academy Awards was the most horrible moment of his life. Unfortunately for Smith, he also made a mistake. During his speech, he said that he was the first gay who won an Oscar: "I read an article a few months ago by Sir Ian McKellen and he said that no openly gay man had ever won an Oscar", said Sam Smith Completely untrue!
Sir Elton John won an Oscar in 1995, as well as Dustin Lance Black, for the film screenplay "Milk".
