Jacoby Shaddix, better known by on screen persona Papa Roach has recently declined to perform in the UPROAR festival tour. The reason for the pull out is having surgery done on his left vocal cord which has developed a nodule.
"It's no secret that I've been having issues with my voice lately," Shaddix declared on Friday. "I was hoping to be able to go out there and kill it on this tour by resting and doing vocal exercises, but my voice has just gone out on me. I hate to let our fans down, but unfortunately surgery is the only way to fix it."
The rock tour had an itinerary consisting of 30 performances, but due to the ailment of their lead vocalist, the band could only complete five. Tour also features the likes of Shinedown, Godsmack, Staind and Adelitas Way. The tour would see these acts in Holmdel, NJ today and would continue till September 30 coming to culmination in Albuquerque, NM.
Producer of the tour John Oakes expressed his disappointment that the band wasn’t going to complete the tour. In a statement he declared “Jacoby's health is the priority and we wish him a speedy recovery."
The band based in California first made their presence felt in 2000 via their major label debut “Infest” which peaked at No. 5 on Billboard 200. Since then, they have released seven studio albums. Their album “Loverhatetragedy” reached No.2, two years after “Infest”. Most recognizable hit singles from that album are “Last Resort” “Scars” and “Lifeline”.
“The Connection” would be group’s eight album, scheduled for release on October 2 this year.
