After RIAA has decided to implement a new system for quantifying the music sold by a band, a new set of album titles have been certified with platinum and gold.
Under the new system of calculation, 1500 "streams" pieces are counted as one album, so bands can be awarded even if they haven't sold materials in a physical format.
Muse have succeeded to obtain 3 Platinum Discs for the albums: Black Holes and Revelations, Absolution and Resistance, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers received 6 Platinum Discs for "Californication" and 3 for "Stadium Arcadium".
