Iggy Pop has left music for a few hours and modeled for students from Academy of Art in New York.
The event took place last month and was made by the Brooklyn Museum in collaboration with British artist Jeremy Deller. The 21 students who took part in this event were aged between 19 and 80 years, and their works will be exhibited this fall at Brooklyn Museum. Jeremy Deller, winner of the Turner prize was the one who brought Iggy to the students.
He told to Pitchfork: "The life class is a special place in which to scrutinize the human form. As the bedrock of art education and art history, it is still the best way to understand the body. For me it makes perfect sense for Iggy Pop to be the subject of a life class; his body is central to an understanding of rock music and its place within American culture. His body has witnessed much and should be documented."
