Drake topped every music chart with his highly popular “One Dance” song. This track quickly became the most streamed song on Spotify towards the end of 2016. In fact, “One Dance” managed to become the first song to ever reach one billion streams on Spotify. However, as all good things must come to an end, Drake’s song was dethroned.
Ed Sheeran is the one who took Drake’s place as being the most streamed artist on Spotify. Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” is the track to overshadow Drake’s “One Dance” reaching 1.318 billion streams. This should give us an idea of just how powerful Ed Sheeran’s fan base can be. Let’s hope that “Shape of You” will be able to break other records during the upcoming future.
