Pink Floyd had an exceptional concert in 1971 at Pompeii, but without the public. Then, the group decided to record a concert film with an empty amphitheater.
Production lasted four days, during which the director Adrian Maben saw the band performing songs like "One of These Days", "Echoes", extracted from the album "Meddle" as well as "A Saucerful of Secrets".
After the film was finished in Paris, Pink Floyd released "Live at Pompeii" one of the most popular films in the history of rock music concert. Now, 45 years later, David Gilmour will return to Pompeii, but will play in front of his fans. Gilmour will play two concerts on 7 and 8 July, both part of the tour to promote his solo album, "Rattle That Lock".
