A strand of David Bowie's hair was sold with 13,700 pounds at an auction that took place in Beverly Hills.

The hair was taken from Wendy Ferrier, who cut a strand of his hair in 1993 to use at a wax statue at Madame Tussauds in London. Wendy Ferrier kept the strand hidden for 33 years before an placing it at the auction house Heritage Auctions. At the same event, a guitar that belonged to Prince was sold for 102,000 pounds.

The instrument was bought by Jim Irsay, owner of the Indianapolis Colts football team.
