As one can recall Drake’s 2011 breakthrough album called Take Care included an unusual collaboration with the newly appeared in the music industry The Weekend called “Crew Love”. After five years, the demo by Abel Tesfaye has been leaked online unexpectedly.
Drizzy’s beats are nowhere to be found in the demo version, leaving Weeknd’s amazing vocals to flow freely. The first verse is still present among with a second one that was taken from the album version which was replaced for a Drake verse latterly added.
When The Weekend was interviewed by Rolling Stone in 2015 he spoke about how he took part in Take Care stating that he is thankful for Drake shining light on him. And everything happens for a reason.
This version of “Crew Love” which features The Weekend Only has a scent of nostalgia, including a small preview of what could have been if he didn’t bring Drake his own material.
He later topped Billboard 200 with his new album Starboy at the same time charting on the Hot 100.
