Beyonce has returned; this time with her new video “Run the World (Girls)”, unveiled on the sensational American Idol to the delight of fans around the world. Speaking in a freshly released interview with Billboard Beyonce reveals the source of her inspiration.

“It's definitely riskier than something a bit more ... simple. I just heard the track and loved that it was so different. It felt a bit African, a bit electronic and futuristic. It reminded me of what I love, which is mixing different cultures and eras — things that typically don't go together — to create a new sound. I can never be safe; I always try and go against the grain. As soon as I accomplish one thing, I just set a higher goal," she said. "That's how I've gotten to where I am.”

The revolutionizing pop single which director Francis Lawrence calls “one of the biggest Beyonce music videos ever done” was produced by UK-based DJ and songwriter Switch in conjunction with Beyonce and Shea Taylor.

Though the initiation arrangement was for "Run the World" to make its debut the previous Friday on Vevo, "Run the World" was only given the opportunity to make its debut on the American Idol in under a week after the "(It) Feels So Good" single by American Idol judge Steven Tyler premiered on the program.

Among those performing on the May 22 show are Keith Urban, Rihanna, Lady Antebellum, the Black Eyed Peas, Pitbull, Taio Cruz, Cee Lee Green and Nicki Minaj.
