Beyonce’s Baby-Mama Drama Propels her up Billboard’s Social 50 Chart

Beyonce’s recent baby mama drama made her jump up to Number 15 from No. 35 in the Billboard’s Social 50 chart.  . According to resources, within a week’s time, Beyonce’s Twitter account (@beyonce) experienced about 146% increase in visitors as the rumor regarding Beyonce giving birth to a baby went viral.

The ranking of the Social 50 chart is basically based on the level of activity on websites like Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, Vevo, iLike and MySpace. The more the pages are viewed, the higher the rank in the Social 50 chart. This latest ranking which has placed Beyonce on number 15 is by far the highest, after September 24, 2011, when she was placed at Number 14.

Along with Beyonce, the Black Eyed Peas also witnessed an increase in the Social 50 ranking. They have jumped from being on Number 43 to Number 22. This rise in the ranking is attributed to the most prominent members, Will-I-Am and Fergie. Will-I-Am made the public go crazy with his performance on his solo number, “The Hardest Ever” on ABC’S “Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Year’s Eve with Ryan Seacrest”. On the other hand, Fergie was a co-host at the event with Seacrest. According to resources, the Black Eyed Peas experienced a rise in their Facebook fans by 13% and a 36% increase in their Twitter followers after the event.

Besides themJustin Bieber still sticks to the No. 1 spot while Rihanna secures second place with a 13% increase in Facebook fans and a 9% rise in her Twitter followers. Adele, however, moves down to No. 3 from being at No.2 and Eminem to No.4. Shakira seems to be holding No.5 place, whereas lady Gaga jumps up to No. 6 from No. 10. She also performed at the “Rocking’ Eve” in New York City’s Time Square along with Fergie and Will-I-Am.

The other artists securing a place in the top 10 are LMFAO at No.7, Pitbull at No.8, Katy Perry, No.9 and Chris Brown at No.10.
