Accidental Alcohol Poisoning Brought about Winehouse’s death
05.11.11

Amy Winehouse, the British addiction-riddled songstress, died of inadvertent alcohol poisoning as per official reports from British media.

Suzanne Greenway, the British coroner, declared the tragedy a “death by misadventure.” - blaming the supposed binge drinking ways of the deceased for her untimely demise. Greenway explained, "the unintended consequence of such potentially fatal levels (of alcohol) was her sudden and unexpected death."

The troubled Jazz musician, aged only 27, was discovered dead in her London apartment earlier this year. According to the then conducted autopsy, the singers body showed no discernable traces of alleged illegal substances, assumed as the likely cause for fatality.

Suhail Baithun, the Pathologist responsible for the results, told investigators that the young chanteuse had consumed a "very large quantity of alcohol." An amount seemingly five times that of the legally allowed limit, set for drunk-drivers. Les Newman, the chief detective on the case, reaffirmed suspicions, recounting finding a number of disposed of Vodka bottles that lay strewn all over the singer’s bedroom.

Dr. Romete visited the singer on what was to be Amy’s last night and confirmed that Winehouse had taken up alcohol once more. Dr. Romete described her final impressions of the singer as “tipsy but calm,” shedding some light on Amy’s disturbed mental state by revealing how the singer talked of ending her own life and her approaching birthday in the same conversation.

The drugs, Romete prescribed Winehouse, were ruled out as having any role in her eventual death.

Winehouse family showed gratitude saying how relieved they were to “finally find out what happened to Amy." "The court heard that Amy was battling hard to conquer her problems with alcohol and it is a source of great pain to us that she could not win in time," the family’s spokesperson, Chris Goodman said.
