Nicky jam & Enrique Iglesias are popular artists in reggaetón and pop genres. In 2015, they united for a single called “El Perdón”, which means forgiveness in Spanish language.
Both famous people in their own right, Nicky and Enrique decided to collaborate on what was originally Jam’s solo single. Despite the fact that Iglesias prefers to write his songs personally, this one he liked enough to become partner in art. Music video was recorded almost simultaneously with track itself, to maximize promotion and marketing efforts. It was shot in Colombia, in picturesque city of Medellin.
“El Perdón” enjoyed critical acclaim and financial success. Staying at top of Hot Latin Songs, Billboards’ specific genre chart, is no small feat for any track. But staying there for twenty-six weeks straight is an achievement of historical proportions, comparable only with two other songs – “Bailando” and “La Tortura”. It also won almost every imaginable award for a song from this genre - Latin American Music Awards named it Song of the Year, Billboard Music Awards called it Top Latin Song and Latin Grammy Awards chose it in their Best Urban Performance nomination.
Since then, Nicky Jam released moderately popular album “Fénix”, while Enrique Iglesias was mostly focused on song called “Súbeme La Radio” and filming of a music video for it in Cuba.
