Mariah Carey
Biography

Mariah Carey is a famous pop singer from New York. She was born on March 27 of either 1969 or 1970 (sources vary and she never bothered to clarify). Mariah has to thank pop artist Brenda Starr for beginning of her career. She led Carey to gala event, where record executives hanged out. There they were able to get Mariah’s demo tape to Columbia Records CEO, Tommy Mottola. He became interested and began promoting her as competitor to Whitney Houston. He even spent one million dollars for promotion of her eponymous debut album. It proved to be immensely popular, staying at first spot of charts for almost three months and winning three Grammy Awards. Sadly, second album “Emotions” never met expectations of both producers and fans. As it turned out, she spent all 90’s being noticeable and well-known singer but never managed to overcome Madonna in popularity, even despite that her collaborative track “One Sweet Day”, which featured Boyz II Men, became longest continuous number one song at Billboard charts. It stayed there for sixteen weeks straight. In 2000’s and later she was slowly becoming less and less relevant, with one exception being “The Emancipation of Mimi” album. In 10’s decade she also started to do voice overs for film industry, with notable occasion being “American Dad!” sitcom series.
