Linkin Park

Linkin Park is a well-known band from California. They mostly play alternative rock and nu metal, and work since 1996. Rob Bourdon, Brad Nelson and Mike Shinoda were friends since school. Graduation passed, and they seriously decided to become musicians and invited three more men to join their collective – Xero. After doing some initial records and failing to get a contract, few of people left, including vocalist Wakefield. Chester Bennington replaced him. Changes in roster provoked changes in genre and name, twice in fact. First to Hybrid Theory, under which they released self-titled extended play. Then to Linkin Park, in honor of one of Santa Monica’s parks. Paying homage to their former name, their first album was named exactly the same as EP - “Hybrid Theory” came out in late 2000 and was insanely popular, becoming diamond in USA and 4 times platinum in Europe. After second album “Meteora” was also very successful, magazine Kerrang named them Biggest Rock Band in the World. They did a lot of tours in this era, and tickets were always selling out without problems. After reaching iconic levels of fame, they decided to relax and experiment with genres a little. Thus, “Minutes to Midnight” had no nu metal aftertaste of previous albums. “A Thousand Suns” introduced electronic influences. “Living Things”, “The Hunting Party” and “One More Light” complete band’s discography as of 2017.
