Many of those who grew up during the Reagan Era will always think about Journey as one of their favorite singers for their school dances. His break-up songs are a combination of massive guitars, electronic background and the impressive voice of Steve Perry as vocal background track. This composition contributed to the dramatic reconsideration of the ways in which the ballads were reinvented on the radio in the 1980s. The success was exhausting though and Journey took a break for a while, after returning in full force in 1996. His comeback in the world of music was celebrated with a tour and a new single. At the beginning of the 2000s, the band went again in the studios – but without Steve Perry – for recording new songs that turned into the good albums ‘Arrival’ in 2001, respectively ‘Generations’ in 2005.
