J. Cole
Biography

J.Cole, also known as Jermaine Lamarr Cole, was born on January 28, 1985. He is American rapper, born and raised in Fayetteville. He began rapping at age of 12, and moved to New York to improve his chances of securing contract. While he managed to get a degree in business and communications there, he had to return to hometown for part-time jobs. His rise to fame and prominence happened when “The Come Up”, his premier mixtape, got released. In 2010 he was featured in a number of magazines as promising artist, including Beyond Race and XXL. In 2011 he released album, “Cole World: The Sideline Story”, which got to the very top of Billboard Top 200, American version. Eventually, RIAA certified it as platinum album. His third studio album “2014 Forest Hills Drive” netted Grammy nomination for Best Rap Album. This was also the first hip-hop album in more than 25 years that managed to become platinum without any guest artists, providing it additional PR. After this, J. Cole continued his collaboration with fellow rappers and was featured om DJ Khaled’s album “Major Key”, joined with Jay Z and Beyoncé during their unsuccessful attempt at getting Hillary Clinton elected. On 21 of February 2017, he announced worldwide tour across North America, European Union and Australia.
