Troyal Garth Brook, better known as Garth Brooks is a popular country singer and songwriter from the US. He was born on February 7, 1962 in, Tulsa, Oklahoma. He is known for his unique country music style with the elements of rock and roll. Brooks began from playing the guitar in local bars and clubs. He listened to George Jones, James Taylor, and Townes Van Zandt.
Soon the artist signed a deal with Capitol Records and released his debut self-titled album, which hit No.2 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart. In 1990 the world saw his second album “No Fences”, which was No.1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart during 23 weeks. It also hit No.3 on the Billboard Hot 200. Garth has managed to sell almost 17 million copies of it, making the album his best-selling.
According to RIAA, during his career, the artist has managed to sell 135 million units in the US only. All of his 7 albums were certified diamond in the USA. Garth Brooks has got 2 Grammy Awards, 22 Academy of Country Music Awards and 17 American Music Awards. In 2012 he was included into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
