Foo Fighters

Foo Fighters is a popular rock band from the US. It was formed by Dave Grohl in Seattle in 1994. Dave was a drummer in Nirvana, but after Kurt Cobain death, the group broke out. He didn’t want to join another band but created his own – Foo Fighters. Many describe them as an alternative and hard rock musicians. According to Grohl, he was mostly influenced by ABBA, Beatles, Black Flag, The Knack, and Flipper. In 1995 Foo Fighters debuted with a self-titled album, featuring only Dave Grohl. Later Nate Mendel, William Goldsmith, and Pat Smear joined the band. The members of the group changed several times during their career. In 1999 they released the album “There is Nothing Left to Lose”. It was followed by a series of other albums. 4 of them earned Foo Fighters Grammy Awards. Their 8th album “Sonic Highways” has become one of the most popular, with 12 million sold copies in the USA and 30 million in the rest of the world. The band announced their international tour Sonic Highways World Tour 2014 -2015. They visited South Africa, South America, Australia and New Zealand.
