Biography

David Bowie (David Robert Jones) is a famous singer and songwriter from the USA. David was born on January 8, 1947, in Brixton England. He performed on the music stage for 5 decades and passed away in 2016. At the age of 13, the boy started playing the saxophone. His brother Terry influenced Bowie very much and opened him the world of rock music. Unfortunately, he had mental illness and committed suicide in 1985. In 1962 Bowie formed a band “The Konrads”. Later he used the name Davie Jones or Davy Jones for his performances. In 1969 the singer debuted with the song “Space Oddity”. His album “Ziggy Stardust” made Bowie extremely popular. He later worked with Carlos Alomar and John Lennon on the track “Fame”, which hit No.1 in the USA. In 1972 the singer released the album “The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars”, which made him a real superstar worldwide. Simultaneously, Bowie was building his acting career. In 1976 he appeared in “The Man Who Fell to Earth”. On January 8, 2016, David celebrated his 69th Birthday. 2 days later he passed away. The previous 18 months he struggled with cancer.
