Biography

William Sami Etienne Grigahcine, better known for his short stage name DJ Snake is a record producer and DJ from France. He was born on June 13, 1986, in Paris to the family of Algerians. In the youth, he was fond of creating graffiti art, which earned him the name “Snake”, as he always succeeded to avoid police. In 2011 DJ worked on the album “Born This Way” for Lady Gaga. Next year he was nominated for Grammy Awards for Album of the Year. DJ also co-produced Lady Gaga’s single “Government Hooker”, which became one of the most popular songs among her fans. DJ Snake also created remixes on Kanye Wests songs “You Know You Like It”, “New Slaves” and “AlunaGeorge”. In 2013 he became internationally famous due to the hits “Turn Down for What” and “Bird Machine”. DJ also cooperated with Major Lazer, creating the single “Lean On”. The song hit the top of Latin Pop, Mainstream Top 40, Dance Club Songs charts. It was named the best summer song on Spotify, which later got almost 526 million plays on the service.
