Colbie Caillat, full name Colbie Marie Caillat, is a famous American pop singer, actress, and pianist. She was born on May 25, 1985, in Malibu. Her parents called her “Coco”, which later became the name of her first album. At the age of 11, Colbie understood she wanted to be a singer.
Caillat became famous due to MySpace website. She soon signed a deal with Universal Republic Records and released her debut album “Coco”. The singles “Bubbly” and “Realize” became the most prominent. She has sold more than 2 million copies of the album in the US. “Coco” also became twice platinum.
In 2008 she recorded “Lucky” with Jason Mraz. The track earned them Grammy Award. Next year her new album “Breakthrough” hit No.1 on the Billboard 200. Later RIAA certified it as gold. It got Grammy Awards nomination for Best Pop Vocal Album.
She has already sold almost 6 million albums and 10 million singles worldwide. Moreover, she took part in creating background singing for Taylor Swift’s “Fearless”. In 2015 Colbie got engaged with Justin Young, with whom she has been dating since 2009.
