Casting Crowns

Casting Crowns is a popular modern Christian rock band. It was formed in 1999 by Mark Hall – a youth pastor and the band’s lead vocalist, in Daytona Beach, Florida. The group later moved to Stockbridge, Georgia and found more members to join them. They started from 2 independent albums, which were warmly received in Atlanta. Soon they were awarded GMA regional songwriters competition in Florida. Mark Miller, who noticed Casting Crowns, was surprised with their unique rock style. He offered the band to sign a deal with his Beach Street Records by means of which they released a self-titled album in 2003. The band instantly became one of the quickest selling groups in the American Christian music history. The single “Voice of Truth” was No.1 during 14 weeks. The movie “Facing the Giants” used the track for its trailer. The album became platinum in 2005. The success was followed by the album “Lifelong”, which climbed to No.9 on the Billboard 200 chart. Later it brought the group their first Grammy Award. 2006 saw their “Lifelong Live” with band’s live performances. The third album “The Altar and the Door” hit No.2 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
